Low temp : Hot sounds

Winter is seriously trying tot kick in here in Holland, days are getting short and dark, the temperatures are already gently dropping below zero... I love it; it's cold on the outside, but inside it's really warm and cosy. Though the season is chaning the desire for uplifting beats stays intact, the will to get your feets in movement is alive and kicking! Today I'm bringing some fresh tracks from upfront, Dutch producers... Joris Voorn, Rauwkost, Michel de Heij, Julien Chaptal, Kabele und Liebe, Boris Werner and Anton Pieete will make sure you'll move your feet in this arctic time of the year!

As a bonus I dug up one of Steve Lawlers frequently played tracks; 'rosé rouge' by St. Germain. The rework done by Analog People In A Digital World still has the original sample, originally produced by legend Nina Simone and later on picked up by St. Germain...

So I recommend a few simple steps before actually listening...
- Take a walk;
- Almost freeze your ass off;
- Enter your home;
- Get yourself a beer;
- Find the biggest stereo available (bass +2, treble +1);
- And as a final... the moment you've been working towards... just let go and DANCE!;)

So, love your beer and remember... There's only one legal reason to throw away your beer, and I'm telling you this first hand: Please DO throw your beer at the dj when he plays 'everytime we touch' by Cascada!!!

So I've you're joining my conspiracy against Cascada click HERE (Julien Chaptal & Kabale und Liebe), HERE (Julien Chaptal), HERE (Boris Werner), HERE (Analog People In A Digital World), HERE (Rauwkost), HERE (Joris Voorn), HERE (Michel de Heij) and HERE (Anton Pieete) to download anything but cheesy junk...

ENJOY!

Ar du Vampyre

'Viva Detroit!' is what I thought when I listened to this track called 'Ar du Vampyre', remixed by Detroit (Mich) based producer Darling Farah... This is te summum of deep long build-ups and crazy vocal samples; all together in one killer track! This one keeps you movin', even when energy levels in your body are at critical low
. The deep, dark wobbly bassline keeps you going till the end of times and is in perfect balance to the trippy vocals and synthesyser elements in this track. Take your time to listen to this track and you will find loads and loads of small details which you didn't heard the first time listening... Can't wait to hear this one on melkweg's system!!

Enjoy, Vielen späss!

A Perfect Day

Though it's raining, on the musical front the day could not have been better... A few days a go I got hold of the latest release on one of my most favorite record labels: Dessous Recordings. This label has a beautiful list of artist signed to it, such as: Steve Bug, Geist, Phonique and Two Armadillos. Dessous works closely with massive German techno labels like Matthias Tanzmann's Moon Harbour Recordings.

The latest release on Dessous is called 'A Perfect Day'. This is what Dessous has to say about it: 'David Durango lands a fresh offering on Dessous with a smooth, colourful and complex EP reflecting upon the modern house movement. Fresh from a string of highly praised releases on Poker Flat, the 'Perfect Day EP' really shows off David's passionate and deep musical abilities, and is backed up by a contemplative and dubbed out remix by Matthias Meyer.'

No word a lie... that's what I have to say about it, the lower ends of the tracks are really dubbed out and make you dream of energetic nights in neon-lights. The EP sends a certain feeling of relaxation into the room, but at the same time a certain exitement enters your mind and makes you wanna go out and dance untill the mucky morning sun is tickling the Amsterdam rooftops again... and again... and again...........

Drawing the lines

So, my next job is to give you an impression af my musical background. The best way to do this is to allow you to listen to it. That's why I chose 3 tracks which I am very fond off at the moment and posted them on zippyshare.

The first track is a very accessible track by Sebo K, a young German producer from Germany, who's tracks have already been released on labels like Toolroom, Mobilee, Cecille and Global Underground. This track is remixed by Reboot, he added a deeper lower part but contained the groove of the saxophone and vocal samples. To me this track is a real good one to get your head nodding...

Track number two is the result of an epic team up between Modeselektor and Apparat. This track is a true timeless masterpiece, it has a dark, deep, but catchy bassline completed with the beautiful synthesiser elements of the track. Modeselektor created a great built-up within the track, which give it a dramatic but beautiful climax around 3 minutes into the song. After the climax it plunges into a mind-resetting break, during the break the track gains momentun again and explodes into a beautiful end-sequence.

One the most celebrated tracks of the moment, a personification of the Dutch techno scene of nowadays, is 2000 and One's 'Spanish Fly'. For this post I choose the Butch remix. This track is a dancefloor killer, a great momentum is being built up during the first half of the track. After starting witch a killing sample from a 70's bad-ass porn movie the beat starts to kick in and the track moves toward an inevidable climax at around 4 minutes, supported by the moaning and talking of a spanish woman it makes you dance for the remaing of the track!

These three tracks will give you an indication of me and what is going to follow, hope you'll enjoy these three basscrackers and keep following my blog and most important of all: feel free to comment and Dj Tiësto is certainly not the best dj in the world!

CHEERS!
